Our Story

I started construction at the age of 16. I was introduced to remodels where I participated in every phase of the build; however, it was near the final phase that intrigued me the most. I was amazed at how you could take a simple unfinished room and make it look so different by adding a few pieces of trim. Throughout the course of my time in construction I started noticing that a lot of people knew how to install basic trim, but it was only a handful that knew how to install trim by the old methods known as coping, which required an understanding of how the trim will fit together, very specific cutting techniques and a lot of attention to detail. It also required a level of patience that most carpenters were not willing to deal with. This is what separates Carpenters from Craftsmen. This level of craftsmanship piqued my interest for building Handcrafted Furniture. A process that would require a very skilled individual with a level of understanding, patience and attention to detail that is unsurpassed.

After 22 years of working and learning the trade I started Brinkley Furniture, my own personal line of Handcrafted Furniture tailored to my client’s needs. With more than 30+ years now behind me, I invite you to follow along with me as I produce beautifully handcrafted furniture using old techniques mixed with modern technology. We didn't invent furniture, we've just perfected it.

Welcome to Brinkley Furniture.

This is Craftsmanship, inspired by you.

  • How long does it take to build custom furniture?
Timeframe is dependent on material availability, complexity of the design and scheduling. Smaller pieces you can expect a 2-3 week turn around, more complex pieces are typically 4-6 weeks. If our schedule is more booked then usual these times can extend beyond that.
  • Can I get a price over the phone?
The quick answer is yes, but it helps to gather all the information about the piece to give an accurate price. We can give a generic price, but the type of materials used, dimensions and accessories are questions we need answered for the most accurate price.
  • Do you have an Interior Designer?
I design and build every piece of furniture, however, if you have a Designer or would prefer to work with one. We can assist with that! We work with Designer's all over the city.
  • Can you match an existing piece of furniture?
Absolutely! With over 30 years experience, we can match an existing piece or even create a new color specifically for you.
  • Where do you get your materials?
All materials are locally sourced. We proudly support our local vendors!
  • Do you deliver?
We offer traditional and White Glove delivery.
  • What is your warranty policy?
We offer a one-year warranty on all our custom furniture pieces. This warranty covers defects from workmanship. The warranty does not cover normal wear and tear, damage caused by misuse, abuse, or accidents, or damage resulting from improper care or maintenance.
  • How do I care for my furniture?
We recommend in the first few weeks to use water with a mild detergent. After the furniture has acclimated to your home, you can use any off the shelf cleaner that is safe for all furniture finishes.
